Toninho Horta is a legendary Brazilian composer, vocalist, and one of the world’s top guitarist. In 1986, Horta organized the Seminario de Musica Instrumental in OuroPreto, Brazil, to advance the exchange of instrumental creativity among Brazilian music and musicians. He has performed all over the world, including at Brazil’s Planeta Terra (“Planet Earth”) concert. He is also the subject of filmmaker Fernando Libanio’s documentary A MusicaAudaz de ToninhoHorta.Horta has released more than two dozen albums and has been nominated for Latin Grammys for Best MPB Album for his 2005 album ComO Pé No Forró, which he released on his own Minas label, and for his 2010 release, ToninhoHorta: Harmonia & Vozes. Over the course of his career, he has performed with top Brazilian artists such as Antônio Carlos Brasileiro de Almeida Jobim, Sérgio Mendes, Luciana Souza B.M. '88, Elis Regina, Gal Costa, and Chico Buarque, among many more. In addition, he has crossed musical borders with jazz legends such as Herbie Hancock ‘86H, Pat Metheny ‘96H, Brad Mehldau, George Duke, and Keith Jarrett. Influential composer/guitarist with a developed personal style of harmonization, Horta has had extensive participation in other artists' projects, and has also recorded more than ten solo albums, many of them released internationally. 

Makoto Kuriya* is a Japanese jazz pianist from Kobe who graduated from West Virginia University with linguistics major. He later studied & performed with Nathan Davis at the University of Pittsburgh. Kuriya toured with Grammy winning Chuck Mangione in the late 80’s. As he receives increased recognition in Europe, he established implicit trust for his genuine musicianship and draws people’s attention as an artist as well as an music producer. Kuriya has performed with many famous musicians including Donald Byrd, James Moody, Toots Thielmans, and Curtis Fuller. When he went back to Japan in 1990, Kuriya produced  a series of award winning CD’s. One of Kuriya’s global success was to perform the soundtrack of the platinum winning “Neo Genesis Evangelion” in the mid-90’s.  Since 2001, Kuriya have been writing and producing songs for best-selling pop artists and soundtracks. In 2006, Kuriya produced Japan-Australia joint project and toured with the mixture unit in both countries, appearing at various festivals including another performance at "Tokyo Jazz". In 2008, Kuriya took his hybrid Brazilian unit “Rhythmatrix” to Taichung Jazz Festival, and in 2010, his trio “Tokyo Freedom Soul” to Cairo Jazz Festival. Kuriya was appointed by the government to produce a Brazilian tour as a token of Japan and Brazil's 120th year of relationship. In 2017, he was also appointed by the government to produce a series of performance in New Delhi, India for Japan Festival. In November 2016, Kuriya released his 19th album ACOUSTIC WEATHER REPORT, which earned high praise. Currently, he appears on a regular Japanesed TV program "Tuesday Night Jazzy Live Show." Throughout his long career Kuriya has performed extensively in numerous international tours and music festivals.

Indro Hardjodikoro is a bass player from Indonesia. Indro started his career from childhood and has been recording for various artists in Indonesia from Pop, Jazz and other types of music.In 1988, Indro joined the “Halmahera band,” played at TV Shows “Gita Remaja” and continued with Tohpati's projects such as “Tohpati Bertiga,” “Tohpati Ethnomission.” Indro has also released 4 solo albums and 2 albums along with his band “The Fingers,” which has appeared in several international Jazz festivals. Indro is also a teacher who has produced many bass players in Indonesia such as Barry Likumahuwa & Fajar Adi Nugroho. Currently, he is a lecturer as well in Indonesia Musik Institut (IMI). Indro’s current project is called “Jazz Muda Indonesia.”

Bossa Nova singer, Mercy Dumais, is a Latin Jazz figure for Brazilian music lovers in Indonesia. Mercy is involved in many Brazilian music performances as well as performing in many musical events related to Brazilian Cultures. She sings in Portuguese fluently and her appearances are very well received in the Brazilian embassy. Mercy has frequently performed in the Brazilian Independence-day in Jakarta since 2006. She also has represented Brazil for Gala Latina Blanca 2012 in Jakarta, held by Ibero American Association (IAA). Mercy have played numerous times in Motion Blue Jakarta to great reviews.
